Creamy Frozen Goodness of Dessert Mango Ice cream


Hello friends, today I’m going to share with you another delicious dessert from mango; it is Mango Ice cream. In previous post I show you how to make mango sorbet. This is simple as that being required an additional ingredient besides mango sorbet recipe. Well I guess Mango Ice Cream is upgrade level of mango sorbet, because today’s recipe enhanced with a creaminess from special ingredient that we are using. There is many recipes to make mango ice cream, from them I’m going to show you two different methods to make mango ice cream at your home very easily. Most importantly the taste is different, so you need to try both ways & tell me what is your favorite way.


Method 01

For this one you can use Sweetened Condensed Milk. The sweetness of ice cream comes from it & at the same time it bring the rich creamy flavor. So refreshing to enjoy your guilty free day.

Ingredients for the Mango Ice cream
  1. Cubed mangoes 900g
  2. Sweetened Condensed Milk 390g
  3. Fresh lemon juice 1/2 tsp
  4. Vanilla extract 1/2 tsp
  5. Pinch of salt
Steps to make the Mango Ice cream
  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor or high powered blender.
  2. Puree for 2 to 3 minutes till it become smooth. Scrape down the side of the bowl as needed.
  3. Transfer the mango mixture to an ice cream tub or an airtight container.
  4. Cover and freeze about 3 – 4 hours until it firms. When it’s ready enjoy.

Note: you could also use the Fat Free Sweetened Condensed Milk but the consistency of ice cream mixture will be runny. So that it wouldn’t completely freeze to the point where unable to scoop the ice cream. For the mangoes you need to use ripe ones that can stay their shape after cutting into cubes.

Ingredients for the Mango Ice cream

  1. Ripe Mango puree 900g
  2. Milk 4 1/2 cup
  3. Fresh Cream 3cup
  4. Sweetened Condensed Milk 580g


To make super rich & creamy Mango Ice cream;

  1. Combine the Sweetened Condensed Milk, milk and mango puree in a bowl.
  2. Whip the cream in separate bowl to soft peak consistency. Fold it into the mango mixture.
  3. Pour into a freezing tray and freeze till half set. It will take 1 hour or so.
  4. Remove and beat with a whisk or electric beater until smooth, so that it will absorb more air into the mixture to be soft and creamy when it set out.
  5. Freeze again the ice cream mixture about 2 – 3 hours till it set completely. Enjoy.


Method 02

This is more like a mango yogurt, but I prefer to call it as Mango Ice cream. It has totally different taste than condensed milk based ice cream. Have to taste it for yourself to configure the difference in between these two ice cream recipes.

Ingredients for the Mango Ice cream
  1. Frozen mangoes 900g
  2. Honey 3/4cup
  3. Greek yogurt 1 1/2 cup
  4. Lime juice 4tsp
Steps to make the Mango Ice cream
  1. Put the Greek yogurt into the blender first, followed by the lime juice and honey. I recommend you to know the mangoes first because whether using or how much needed is depend on the sourness of your mangoes.
  2. Add frozen mango cubes and blend till it become smooth texture. Do not over blend, you don’t want to melt the mixture any more than necessary.
  3. You can either serve it right out of the blender as a soft-serve style ice cream, or place it into the metal cake pan and freeze for at least 1 hour.



  • Same goes for the honey as per lime, use less or more honey according to sweetness of your mangoes.
  • Liquid jaggery is a good substitute for honey in this recipe.
  • It’s important to use Greek yogurt for this because regular yogurt has a lot of water content, and that water will make for less creamy ice cream and ice cream that freezes harder and will be difficult to scoop. Greek yogurt is rich and creamy, which in turn makes rich and creamy ice cream that is also softer to scoop. To make your own Greek yogurt from regular, plain, full-fat yogurt: Line a mesh sieve with two layers of cheesecloth or coffee filter, and place it over a bowl. Place at least 1 cup of yogurt in the sieve and let it sit in the fridge for 2 hour, and you will notice a lot of watery liquid (the whey) will be strained out and your yogurt will not be very thick and creamy.
